• if you have a deformed penis or conditions that may cause a prolonged erection (eg, sickle cell anemia)

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Vardenafil

• Do not take this medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) if you are also taking or using any form of nitroglycerin, other nitrates such as isosorbide, nitroprusside or any "nitric oxide donor" medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil), or recreational drugs called "poppers" containing amyl or butyl nitrate because very serious interactions may occur. If you are not sure whether a certain medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) is a nitrate, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil).
• Alpha-blockers (eg, prazosin), delavirdine, HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir), imidazoles (eg, itraconazole), ketolides (eg, telithromycin), macrolides (erythromycin), or quinolones (eg, moxifloxacin) because the risk of side effects, such as low blood pressure, a prolonged erection, or irregular heartbeat, may be increased.
• Do not take this medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) if you are taking an alpha-blocker medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) such as doxazosin, prazosin, or terazosin. If you are taking any of these medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil)s, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking vardenafil.
• Additional monitoring of your dose or condition may be needed if you are taking other medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil)s which may change the way the heart beats such as phenothiazines, tricyclic antidepressants, quinolone antibiotics, and others. Do not start or stop any medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor or any other medical conditions including penis problems; history of painful or prolonged erection; sickle cell anemia; blood system cancers such as leukemia or myeloma; eye diseases, especially retina diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, kidney or liver disease, bleeding disorders, active stomach ulcers, heart problems of any kind including arrhythmias, stroke, very high or low blood pressure, or allergies.

How should I take vardenafil?

• Take 1 LEVITRA tablet about 1 hour (60 minutes) before sexual activity. Some form of sexual stimulation is needed for an erection to happen with LEVITRA. LEVITRA may be taken with or without meals. Do not change your dose of LEVITRA without talking to your doctor.
• Take Vardenafil by mouth about 1 hour before sexual activity, but do not take Vardenafil more often than once daily as needed.
• Your doctor may lower your dose or raise your dose, depending on how your body reacts to LEVITRA.

Cautions

• Do not take this medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) more often than once daily as needed. If you are taking certain other medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil)s you may only be able to take this medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) one time every three days. Contact your doctor or pharmacist for more information. This medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. However, taking this medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) with a high-fat meal may reduce the amount of medicine (Levitra - Vardenafil) that your body absorbs.
